New Head Coach (and New Year updates)

We are delighted to inform you Joanne Barnett has been appointed as the New Head Coach for Matlock and District Swimming Club and starts this role today. Jo already has an incredible reputation with the younger end of the club and has been very active with the continuing development of the working partnership between MADSC and Freedom leisure. We wish Jo every success in this role.

Gary and Jo will be working together to ensure a seamless transition of the Head Coach role so that swimmers continue to follow their planned programme with no disruptions.

MADSC Committee and Jo have been discussing new ideas for additional training such as reintroducing morning sessions and land training. It is hoped that these sessions will commence over the next couple of months. Discussions are ongoing regarding the continuing development and growth of the club and we will keep you updated.

We encourage swimmers to attend as many sessions as possible leading up to the Derbyshire Championships. We need to make the most of training, arrive on time and work hard. The closing date for entries has been extended to 12pm Friday 6^th January. Any swimmers with specific goals please share them with your coaches.

Parents, we are encouraging swimmers to have their own login for the club app and website; swimmers can record personal best times, see awards, log their training on the app while keeping up with the latest news at the club. To request a login username and password swimmers are required to share their email address via [email protected] .
